Now that recreational players are not so easy to acquire it is important to focus marketing efforts on those players, as well as reserving resources to keep the more focused players happy as well, a healthy balance.
Betfred is part of the iPoker network. How do you see the future of iPoker network? Should players be afraid of a possible shrinking of the network?
Players should not be afraid of a possible shrinking of the network, the iPoker network is very entrepreneurial and, as you know, the largest poker network in the world. They have achieved this position by innovating in research and development and implementing these ideas effectively into the network, they have been doing this for many years, and will continue to be one of the market leaders for many years, as well as a safe, trusted environment for poker players.
After Full Tilt Poker left some players unpaid, players seem to be more and more afraid of depositing to unknown online poker rooms. It is completely understandable that players would like to make sure that they get their money once they would like to cash out. What about Betfred? Should players be afraid of cash out problems?
Being a player myself I would always be wary of non-reputable sites and steer well clear of depositing any of my own money. We are not a Publicly-listed company, so I cannot comment on our actual figures, what I can say though, is that our duplication from land shops to an online service has been very successful and the results we have seen are very much positive on a year on year basis, we expect this trend to continue.
Betfred Poker is running a $5,000 cash race for PokerAkademia players in June. The race seems to be highly Plus EV for the players. What other promotions are running at Betfred during the summer months which could be attractive for players?
Of course, I always love a cash race as a player, it makes the game so much more interesting and competitive, even for the smaller players as they can add that little bit of cash needed to boost their bankroll to the next level! Over the course of the summer we always try to mix it up with promotions, we like players to try out our other products, particularly as we are primarily a sports book.
